The Details
September 25, 2018

The difference between good work and great work is all in the details. We add custom details to many of our projects. Many of these projects shown are not only the pieces themselves, but also the rooms we built they’re inside of.
Finish Carpentry
This client is a homebuilder himself. Often he uses Slarve Construction to add finishing touches and wood details and other custom built in furniture. Here we made extra large sized farm doors, built in floating shelves, fireplace mantel, and mirrors for the master bathroom. His theme was white oak, so much of this was in white oak.
Lafayette Kitchen Countertops
This homeowner was after a much more modern feel using only the materials themselves to warm up the space with natural wood countertops, and built in walnut bench.
Faux Beams
We build faux beams for clients when they have a little something special they want to add to their ceilings, they also cover up real beams very nicely.
Farm Doors
Farm doors. They add some texture and function to an otherwise bare wall. We’ve even used them to hide a TV when not in use. Here are a few I’ve built in all kinds of sizes, styles and colors.
Wine Cellar Door
This is a special door we custom built collaboratively with a talented local blacksmith Chris Collette. It has a built in draft seal that actuates on the bottom of the sill when closed to keep the cellar temp, Very fun little project.
Slab Table
Slab table measure 10 feet by 4 feet. Supported by a geometric steel frame and leveling feet. All built in house.
Hardwood Elm Countertop
Built and installed a custom Elm hardwood countertop.
